Pilates is a lifetime exercise that is offered as individual or small group instruction. Debi and her team of instructors provide well rounded programs customized using the reformer, tower, cadillac, chair and barrel.
Our Pilates program is designed to increase your energy, strength and flexibility all by focusing on a client’s core and posture. Pilates is proven to reduce the frequency and severity of common injuries in people of all ages. By increasing your core strength, life suddenly becomes easier-and more active. At Active Body and Health you will be taken through a personal pilates session with a trainer that knows your body. Following a thorough evaluation and assessment, each exercise and session will be tailored to you and will vary based on your needs and goals.
Our Pilates program currently offers one to one, duo or small group training. Whether you want to come by yourself, bring a group, or let us help you become a part of a group, we can make it happen. Our small group pilates program is a great economical way to begin, and it offers accountability because of the “team mentality.” For 3 months, twice a week, you and 3-6 other participants will enjoy the new look and feel of your body as you work your core muscles with both the mat and apparatus exercises of classical pilates. Bring your group or let us know what days and times you can workout and we will put together one for you. You can also drop into our scheduled classes if you give us 24 hours notice or better yet, organize a group, and in return we will offer you 2 free private sessions to say “thank you for your referral!”
Our Pilates program offers something for everyone. Whether you are a beginner who’s never done pilates, an instructor trying to improve your own pilates regimen, or fall somewhere in between, Active is the right place to be. With over 20 years of teaching experience in the Health and Fitness Industry, Debi Vincent, Owner and Pilates Director at Active, and her staff offer a unique approach to pilates. Debi believes pilates is an exercise for a lifetime. Her students have ranged from a 12-year-old competitive dancer to an 80-year-old woman who loves bike riding and hundreds more in between.
When Debi opened Active Body & Health in 2003, she saw an image of a Fitness Fusion Facility. Not many facilities were “mixing it up”, and Debi decided she wanted her clients to have a balanced workout and not be limited to one style of training.
Classical Pilates is a systematic approach to exercise. The exercises, which work core musculature, are done in a specific order. Joseph Pilates believed that the body would excel if the mind and the body worked together to perform physical exercise. He believed there was no time for haphazard exercise. Debi's approach is very similar. She has the knack for discipline and structure with just the right amount of fusion fun! We invite you to give it a try!
